Tiny Beam Fund, Inc. (“we” “us”) is committed to respecting and maintaining the private information of visitor to our website www.tinybeamfund.org (“Site”). This Privacy Policy has been adopted to address the collection, storage, and use of personally identifiable information obtained through your use of the Site.

Our Site is operated in the United States and intended for users located in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, please be aware that information we collect, including Personal Information, will be transferred to, and processed, stored and used in the United States. The data protection laws in the United States may differ from those of the country in which you are located, and your Personal Information may be subject to access requests from governments, courts, or law enforcement in the United States according to laws of the United States. By using the Site or providing us with any information, you consent to the transfer to, and processing, usage, sharing and storage of your information, including Personal Information, in the United States as set forth in this Privacy Policy.

I. Collected Information

Visitors may provide us with non-personally and personally identifiable information in order to utilize our web services and properties, and retrieve information. We gather two types of information when users interact with our Site:
1) Personally identifiable information, which is information that identifies you personally, such as your first and last name and e-mail address (“Personal information”). We may collect this Personal Information through various forms and in various places on the Site, including account registration forms, contact us forms, or when you otherwise interact with the Site.
2) Non-Personal Information we passively collect or receive when you use our services.

1. Data Security

We endeavor to incorporate commercially reasonable safeguards to help protect and secure your Personal Information. However, no data transmission over the Internet, mobile networks, wireless transmission or electronic storage of information can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Please note that we cannot ensure the security of any Personal Information you transmit to us, and you use our Site and provide us with your Personal Information at your own risk.

2. Non-Personal Information We Passively Collect

When a user visits our Site, some information such as the visitor’s Internet protocol (IP) address, Internet service provider, operating system, the site from which the visitor arrived, and the time and date of the user’s visit may be collected automatically as part of the software operation of the website. This intake of information is generally not personally identifiable. This information may be stored or accessed using a variety of technologies that may be downloaded to your personal computer, browser, laptop, tablet, mobile phone or other device whenever you visit or interact with our Site. To the extent we associate such passively collected information with your Personal Information we collect directly from you on the Site, we will treat it as Personal Information.

3. Cookies

Our Site make use of “cookies” in order to identify user sessions and maintain information within sessions. We use a limited duration (24 hour) cookie that allows us to keep track of user information within the session to identify privileges and preferences of the user. We do not use cookie information to identify users in any way except as noted above, nor do we use the information given by users and stored in the cookies to link to any other data.

4. Web Bugs

We do not make use of “Web bugs” (programs installed on your personal computer by a website to track personal web usage) in any way, shape, or form.

5. Information Collected by Third Parties

We do not have access to, nor control over, advertisers’ or service providers’ use of cookies or other tracking technologies or how they may be used.

Third-party vendors, including Google, whose services we use, may place cookies on web browsers in order to serve ads based on past visits to our website. You can set preferences for how Google advertises to you using the Google Ad Preferences page, and if you want to you can opt out of interest-based advertising entirely by cookie settings.

II. What We do with the Information We Collect

1. Personal Information

Personal information is internally used by us only for the purpose stated at the time it is collected, e.g. to reply to a question or inquiry or to provide a requested service. Such personal information is never used for secondary or unrelated purposes unless otherwise requested or explicitly agreed to by the website user.

We may use your Personal Information: (1) to provide you with information or services or process transactions that you have requested or agreed to receive, including to inform you about new grants and awards opportunities we offer and new content we have placed on our Site to send you electronic newsletters, or to provide you with special offers or promotional materials on behalf of us or third parties (if you do not wish to receive such announcements, send us an email message any time with your request to not receive any further announcement, and we will stop sending you announcements unless you write to tell us to do otherwise); (2) to enable you to participate in a variety of the Site’s features; (3) to process your registration with the Site, including verifying your information is active and valid; (4) to improve the Site or create new service offerings, to customize your experience on the Site, or to serve you specific content that is most relevant to you; (5) to contact you with regard to your use of the Site and, in our discretion, changes to the Site and/or the Site’s policies; (6) for internal business purposes; and (7) for purposes disclosed at the time you provide your information or as otherwise set forth in this Privacy Policy.

We will not send you marketing messages and we will not share, sell, rent, swap, or authorize any third party to use your email address for commercial purposes without your permission.

When requested, and where possible, we will delete personal information from current operational systems.

2. Use of Server Logs

Our web servers log the standard information about website users including the IP address of the user, domain of the user, URLs visited, and the date/time visited. We use this information to generate aggregate reports which summarize our website traffic, which we use to improve our site and its usability for our visitors. We do not attempt to track individual users and we do not link the web log information to any other database with the purpose of identifying individual website users.

III. Who We Share the Information with

1. Within Tiny Beam Fund, Inc.

We do not sell, rent, swap, or authorize any third party use of your Personal Information or email address without your permission. We only use your Personal Information or email address internally to operate or provide you access to our services, comply with our legal obligations, enforce our policies, or reduce or prevent fraud related to our services.

2. Third Parties

We may share your Personal Information with our parent, subsidiaries and affiliates. We also reserve the right to disclose and transfer all such information: (i) to a subsequent owner, co-owner or operator of the Site or applicable database; or (ii) in connection with a merger, consolidation, restructuring, the sale of substantially all of our interests and/or assets or other corporate change, including, during the course of any due diligence process.

IV. Other

1. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, the California “Shine the Light” law, Civil Code Section 1798.83, permits you to opt out of the disclosure of your Personal Information for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes. Please note that this opt-out does not prohibit disclosures made for non-marketing purposes.

2. Children’s Privacy
Our Site is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect or store any personal information about children under the age of 13. In the event that we become aware that we have collected personal information from any child, we will dispose of that information in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and other applicable laws and regulations.

3. Consent
By using our Site, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information pursuant to this Privacy Policy.

4. Changes to This Policy
In order to maintain effective privacy practices, we retain the right to modify, alter, or update this policy without notice and you are encouraged to periodically review it. The date the privacy policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. Any changes will be effective immediately upon the posting of the revised Privacy Policy and your use of our Site indicates your consent to the privacy policy posted at the time of use. However, we will not use your previously collected Personal Information in a manner materially different than represented at the time it was collected without your consent.

6. Links to Third-Party Sites
We may provide links to third-party sites and assume no responsibility for the information practices of websites a user is able to access through ours. We encourage all web visitors to review the privacy policies and statements of all externally-linked websites. There is no third-party advertising on our Site.
